Digital Marketing Boot Camp, Session 3: Paracore's Adam Arkfield details paid social campaigns for Facebook and how to get the most out of your marketing. SESSION TRANSCRIPTION introduction My name is Adam Arkfeld and I am the president and founder of Paracore. I'll share the 5 essential concepts that every Facebook marketer should know, along with some of the top Facebook advertising tactics we use at ParaCore. What cold beer and Facebook ads have in common To set the scene, I'm going to tell you a story. I love cold brew coffee. Cold brew coffee is my jam. I drink cold brew coffee all the time, hot or cold. I do it myself. When we moved into our office about 18 months ago, I thought I was going to employee email database buy a keg of cold brew and serve cold brew in the office. I was super excited about it so I'm making my own cold brew; I had a 5 gallon jar there that you can see goes into the cold brew barrel. I put it in the kegerator; I pull on the tap, the cold infusion comes out. It's like the nectar of the gods. I drink it and it's amazing, right? And the next morning I walk in, it's a few days before open house, and I pull the tap, cold brew comes out, super excited, you know, cold brew flowing freely. I drink it and it tastes terrible, absolutely terrible. And I didn't know what had happened. And it was literally only a day, the cold brew lasted in the fridge for quite a long time, and I couldn't understand why it tasted terrible. So I got rid of this whole lot. I made another 5 gallon batch which took a long time. I did the exact same thing, pulled it, worked and tasted great. The next day was horrible. What I learned over time was that I used CO2 - like you use when you have soda - for my gas. He squeezed and pushed the cold brew down so that it came out of the ta. But CO2 doesn't work for cold brew because it takes on the taste of CO2, which is fine with soda, but not with cold brew. I needed to use nitrogen.
